Update

First thing first, I apologize for not posting since the first coming of Jesus, I have been working on a format for the video reviews as well as a time frame to which I'll adhere to for posting. Also, I have decided to do one game per month, this will allow for a large build up for the next month hen I move on to a different game.

I have decided to choose the 10th of every month to switch games for a few reasons; first, it's at the beginning of a month so it's easy to keep up with, second, it's the second week of the month allowing for a time schedule to be set and enabling me to keep my timeframe somewhat coherent, and finally, I have from now to the tenth to find an appropriate way to notify everyone what this month's game will be.

Brawl Heroes Episode 1: act 1 (80/100)

Author: shadowlink4321
Game: Smash Brothers Brawl
Genre: Story/Action

When I first was pondering what exactly I would base my blog on Machinima came to mind. How would I go about ding it? Did I want to put my plans into action and actually make another machinima myself? Nah, too much work, however, looking back, it seems like I took the more "work" intensive route. I'm not down playing the work of directors here, it's just that watching a video numerous times writing, editing, editing, writing some more, getting the videos and then actually grading the work.... it just seems a lot harder than what I intended to do. But, enough about me and what I consider to be hard work. Here, we have the pinnacle of hard work, looking at other machinimas there is SO much more to work with, here, we have limited areas, camera control, motions, back ground options, ambient noise, the list goes on. I take a lot of joy in reviewing this machinima.

Video(25/25)
Superb, there is no other word that I can think of that would fit how this is shot. Honestly, I couldn't come up with anything wrong without trolling. What actually makes this so perfect is the fact that this is his/their(?) FIRST machinima! I'm all for a little challenge here and there, but for crying out loud, this is beyond anything I could ever foresee a newbie attempting, just watch this and then watch others from the same game, or, better yet, look up how the theater mode works and then pass judgment yourself.

Sound (15/25)
Oddly enough, while watching this, my ears would randomly start bleeding due to the extremely crappy  microphone quality that make it, painfully obvious that this is a first attempt at machinima. Other than that, while watching, I could easily see this as being animated, the tone from the voices and the background music sets the correct mood and conjures a feeling of watching an amine. Before moving on to the first part I just want to say that the VA for Picachu fits very closely to how I pictured its voice to be.

Script Quality (40/50)
A very solid story line, we already have what seems to be some love going on here, betrayal, flashbacks, deep thoughts, I love it all! Most shocking is that these entire episodes can actually be aired on television (averaging 18-22 minute run time). What keeps them from a perfect score is the ear wrecking grammer. Before you get truned off, no, it's not that obvious, but, being the grammar Nazi I am when it comes to scripts I hurt while hearing them.

As usual we have a closing... you know what, screw it, this would take way to long detailing  how highly I reccomend this to anyone, and I mean anyone. Watch this NOW!

No Russian(95/100)

Author:Micheal Barnes
Game:Call of Duty
Genre:Story

I've been working on my youtube channel a lot more recently, and, naturally, I looked at the Machinima youtube channel to see if there was anything that caught my eye. No Russian, ladies and gentlemen, is, without a doubt, the best Machinima I have had the pleasure to review.

Video(50/50)
There are many things that PC's have over consoles, graphics(before consoles move on to their next generation), application life, and mods. To be honest I have no clue how Micheal Barnes was able to achieve this, however, one thing I do know is that this was a complete and total modification of the game's files. I have been playing CoD since the CoD 2 days. As far as I know, the only one that has a theater mode is the most current, Black Ops. Words can't correctly explain how amazing this is to watch, you would think it was an actual movie, if you replace the 3D character with real people. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the visuals, the frame rate is solid, the angles are nicely used, aside from some light model collision it's perfect.

Sound (45/50)
Looking at some of the best action movies of the past ten years there is one thing they all have in common, no music, yes I am aware there are some musical scores here and there, but the underlying scenes where the action is intense and there are bodies falling, bullets whizzing every which way, there is no music. It takes a pretty intense battle to actually compliment this and an even more skilled director, the fact that Barnes was able to pull this off smoothly without drawing much attention to it is mystifying. I am in complete awe of his ability.

Script Quality (N/A)
I can't score this Machinima on script due to it being just audio from the game.

It doesn't matter if you like action, story, or any other kind of Machinima, this is a must see, two of one of the more memorable scenes from Modern Warfare 2 are recreated in full cinematic view. I guarantee that you will like this one. It has my seal of approval.

1.12.10

Retaliation:Redux (85/100)

Author:Connery Kappeler
Game:Call of Duty
Genre:Story

There are many things wrong with this Machinima, Retaliation:Redux is a continuation of Retaliation, by the same director, there is something about it that makes you think that this might actually be part of the CoD story.

Video(15/25)
The video here are two things that are fatally wrong here, first we have the overuse of HDR (High dynamic range) this causes any place where sunlight touches to change the color of that objet to blinding white and creates a very unrealistic picture, when used in moderation it can make just about any video look amazing (think most current games where you see blinding light when you leave a dark area or look at a light source for the first time), the second problem is the lack or a world around the actors, don't know what I mean? Go to any open world scene and tell me what you see in the background. Nothing, there is just a big blob of a single color in the back ground, I find this lazy on the account of the director, I am aware of the system strain depth perception puts on a system, I have been using Blender, Maya Autodesk, and a few other 3D modeling programs for the past three years, however that excuse is not acceptable in this situation, if you watch the first scene then you will see a great mountain range in the background! The background in the second scene is nonexistent due to the overuse of HDR and in the last scenes there aren't any props besides that T.V, and the tent. And as a side note, anyone else notice how they all walk funny?

Sound (20/25)
How do we know this is Call of Duty? Awesome gun sounds? CHECK! Nice graphics? CHECK! the same guy doing every voice and failing at it? CHE–  wait what? Look, don't get me wrong, he does a nice job at the voices but he has a very distinct voice. It has a sort of “talking gruffly through your teeth out the side of your mouth with a distinct accent” quality to it. truthfully, this isn't the worst British accent I have ever heard but it is one of the more generic ones. Even with the sub-par voice acting the actual quality of it is very good, with only one mistake (see 3:00).

Script Quality (50/50)
This is the eye in Retaliation's star (oh yes, I went there), the story isn't hard to follow even though this is after the events of the first Retaliation there is no actual need to go back and watch the original. The story is just that well put together, it pays a grand tribute to the Call of Duty story line. I have no negative comments about it.

This is a MUST see for all you story fans out there, And if you like action, see the original Retaliation which I will be doing a review of in my next post.

City 17 National Anthem (100/100)

Author:  Dominic "Mutank" Struczynski
Game: Half Life 2
Genre: Music Video

Here we are, the first 100 I have ever given, it is well earned too, there are no outstanding problems that your average viewer would notice. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, City 17's National Anthem

Video(25/25)
Superb visuals, I wouldn't have been too surprised if this had been in the actual game, the effects are used are not very obvious but you know that they weren't put into the original game. The video is smooth and the video cutting is done perfectly.

Sound (25/25)
"O Canada!/Our home and native land!/True patriot love in all thy sons command." That was a perfect parody of the Canadian national anthem, it's also quite impressive that a little satire was put in there. The singer was decent great, she has a nice voice that is very easy on the ears.

Script Quality (50/50)
Seeing as how this was custom made, I have to say it's quite impressive, to do a full scale conversion (there is a full song, download can be posted upon request) of a national anthem, keep the rhythm and speed while describing the starting point of Half Life 2, "Mutank" has earned kudos from me. There is one tiny problem however, in the scene where you have the three CP and the one guy against the wall, I feel that, instead of looking at the camera, one of them could be showing some interest in the guy, but hey, like I said it's almost nonexistent, wouldn't change anything at all so it's best forgotten.

Regardless of who you are this will be quite entertaining to you, that one little problem aside this is exactly what machinima is about.

13.11.10

[MMV*]Insomnia (65/100)

Author: XxMushyHugsxX
Game: Maple Story
Genre: Music Video

This was something that caught me by surprise today, randomly lurking on youtube, looking for some machinima and then I discover these little gems. MMV's are new to me, and they seem to be quite legit, many of the ones that I saw matched very well with their chosen song and Insomnia is no exception.

Video(10/25)
When it comes to music video machinima there are very few things that must be placed on the shoulders of the director and video is one of them. This video is superb, however, that doesn't coincide with what the score says, the reason being that XxMHxX violated one of the key rules of machinima; Don't use too many effects! There are numerous points in which the video is either too dark or HDR is used too much. Sure, if you are doing a sprite animation then of coarse you would need to add a little spice to the soup, however, the problem comes in when there is too much spice, which is the case here.

Sound (25/25)
It's just a basic MP3 playing behind a video, there is no complaint
.
Script Quality (35/50)
Here is where sprites shine, there must be a note that by "script" I mean direction, and how well the movements portray what is trying to be said. In Insomnia there are so many times where only the onscreen text or the words let you know what is going on. Arguable, that can be a good and bad thing, good, being that they actually connect, bad, being that you barely know what is going on, here, you are somewhere in the gray area. Working with sprites, while easier to manipulate, require a story board of exactly what you want where you want it. There are way too many reused scenes here to fit a good storyboard (some slight variation would have been accepted)once you get down to the knitty-gritty half of the video is nothing but a rerun and that is quite unacceptable.

This is a very nice video to watch, I highly recommend this video to you anyone....well...minus the people that don't like this song. (I've never heard of it, but whatever)

*note* MMV = Maple Music Video(edit) Not sure but I believe this video is incomplete.

Counter Strike for Kids (85/100)

A "weel gun"? Only eight years old and he's already talking about drive-by
Author: Jsxanatos
Game: Counterstrike
Genre: Comedy

I ran across this little number a few years back, before I even considered writing a blog, I didn't really find it funny, but that doesn't mean it didn't deliver.

Video(15/25)
For being one of the older machinima out there CS: for kids holds up pretty well in the visual department, aside for a few errors which are painfully obvious, the mod it's self (which is actually multiple mods put together) is pretty solid, there is no lag to be seen, and everything is well put together.

Sound (20/25)
Here is a balanced part of this machinima, it doesn't have the best audio available however it works with what it has, and I appreciate that, it is easy to tell that the microphones on hand were not up to par for anything other than Teamspeak chat (Google it) yet it idin't effect the over all quality of the video much.

Script Quality (50/50)
From the opening statement concerning drive-bys I was sold, this is an excellent script. Much like a story based machinima, I feel that the script makes or breaks a comedic machinima. Let's face it, we have all seen many a good jokes ruined by bad timing, and all other kinds of shenanigans, thus, a script is MANDATORY to the life of comedy.

Even though this is scored highly, don't be fooled, there isn't much here in terms of...well... anything. Personally I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but you are welcome to watch it if you like.

4.11.10

Sad face....

A quick update, I'm currently busy getting my youtube channel cleaned out and looking for a job as well as having a strategy planned out for these reviews so my updates will be on the slow side for a while. To tide you over I present to you the longest video on youtube (48 hours):

1.11.10

Benevolence (63.5/100)

Gifts are not something to be forsaken, gifts are given to us so that they may be used to serve a higher purpose
Benevolence, Dictionary.com defines it as:
  -Noun
1.Desire to do good to others; goodwill; charitableness: to be filled with benevolence toward one's fellow creatures.
2.An act of kindness; a charitable gift.
optimumforge, on the other hand, has this word pegged in a light of irony, what can be Benevolent about war? What shows kindness or what can be considered a "charitable gift" in war? We all know the effects of war on the human body, could the Benevolence here be to use the gift of destruction as a means to stop suffering? Dunno, the interpretation is up to you, now, on to the grading scale:

Video(25/25)
The visuals here are nice, one could actually see this being the intro to a very deep machinima. the blur is used very tastefully and presents a nice focus of the camera, it doesn't shove thirty-five pounds of depth perception down your throat. This is nicely coupled with the camera angles, I have no complaints here.

  Sound (15/25)
This is pretty impressive quality audio, however, that sniper rifle sounds a lot like that pistol.... I'm just sayin'.

Script Quality (23.5/50)
The monologue is very impressive, it could stand up to many-a-game's opening statement. It is very deep and leads the listener to think bigger than what they normally would, yet one flaw is that there is a plot gap, it is apparent that he feels guilty about what he has done but is there a time lapse between the kill and the suicide? From the looks of things he was completing an objective during a mission, but, you can only leave certain things to the viewer, you can't have them think too much, it's not something that people want to do when there isn't a story to follow.

There was such good material here, it did pretty well but even a game where everything is amazing can fall dead if the script doesn't match, recommend? Depends on the person, are you a fan of melancholy or like mind food? If so, then by all means, feed yourself, but there isn't much else here to watch.

31.10.10

organizing the shelf

Just a quick update, sorry no machinima today, however I will make sure to have a double post just for you all (smiles all around). What I am going to do is, first, create a list of genere's that most machinima will fall into, second, I am going to specify the exact things that the reviews are based on (see list below), third, I am going to create buttons! (everyone loves buttons) The purpose? Anything that is affiliated with this website should be able to get a button on the side bar. Last but not least, I am currently working on making a page where you can watch a review of every machinima that appears on this website to further give you an idea of what the machinima is like.

there are four categories that videos receive a Grade in:
  • Video quality
  • Sound quality
  • *Dependent on the genre* example, action based machinima, quality of the action scenes
  • Script quality*dependent on machinima, can be just a solid score*

Each category can be broken down into multiple subcategories that make up the total score for that particular parent category:

  • Video Quality
  1. Camera angles and changes*as well as frame rate in sprite machinima*
  2. Effects or scenery
  • Sound quality
  1. Microphone
  2. Music placement
  3. Sound effects *if applicable*
  • *Genre dependent* Action, ect
  1. Intensity
  2. Balance *there should be no, I hate you*fight, talk, a little story* I kill joo!!! >=0
  • Script quality
I feel that with an updated grading scale things can be much easier to explain in detail.

28.10.10

Who ya' gonna call?

This looks like a job for ambassador Pineapple.
This episode based machinima comes from my own personal vault. ross scott's Freeman's Mind is hard to place in a genre, the entire thing is basically the game HalfLife played throughout with commentary from the mind of Freeman (the protagonist). If I were forced to choose I would say that this belongs in the comedy genre due to the many, many, many, moments of humor. Freeman's Mind is one of those rare machinima that require no enhancing effects (there are some but they are just
Here try some of our fine used bullets.
to make it seem as if you are looking through his eyes). The script is excellent, the sound is excellent, it runs at a smooth and constant thirty frames per second (not really much seeing as how old the game is), this is just one of those machinima that need approval from no one but the creator. I highly recommend watching this, there is action, suspense, and if you haven't played the game, surprises galore! As proof I present to you a rant directly from episode twenty eight;

This is....suspiciously convenient... I haven't been used to things going my way for... quite a while now. Hey! Maybe it's karmic balance! Since now I know I have much bigger long term problems, I'll have less short term ones! No, lasers, aliens, I just flat-out have problems. But I'm willing to share my problems *fires SMG* See? Now we all have problems!( =D ) I really do have problems.

As I watched this I began to ponder "what if" situations, such as, "if 'A' happened what would he say?" and, normally, "A" would happen and I would get my answer. There are few machinima that can match the caliber that Freeman's mind have set, this is what I expect the standards to be and one day, I hope that many will follow.

26.10.10

No, not this time....

It's just not a fight if shadow doesn't use Chaos Control

Sonic v Shadow,that's the name of this machinima(fight scene?) by a user named ifureadthisdieThere is no doubt that this is a straight-up battle machinima, the scores are as follows;
o rly nao
  • Grammar: 0/25
  • Story: 0/25
  • Sound: 12.5/25
  • Action: 25/25
That about sums it all up. in all aspect except action this machinima is way below the acceptance line, however, the action, oh boy do we have it, and in gratuitous amounts! From the first hit, you notice the Dragon Ball Z sound effects, that is the saving grace here. the action is top notch, I feel it lives up to another machinima that made the DBZ sounds famous, among other things, truthfully there isn't much to talk about here. I could Go on and on about how bad everything else was but.... the action is so well made that it makes up for that completely. Actually that is what can be talked about, the action! Take, if you will, S.S Goku after the death of Krillin at the hands of Frieza, you remember how bad ass that was? well there are not just one but TWO of those in here. there is even your standard, "turn based" kick ass system whereas they take turns powering up and then demolishing their opponent. Unless you are a big fan of sonic or shadow, or you just like to watch action videos this is not for you and your time is better spent else where. Other than that, this is right up your alley.

24.10.10

Laser face, laser face, laser face....

My eyes are way better, as they shoot lasers.
Truer words have never been spoken, Sanity Not Included has struck oil with Phoenix wright: Bullshit Evolved. It's an episodic machinima presenting cases from the court room LIVE! Just joking on that last part, but, this is seriously the way machinima should be done, there is no need for any enhancements, something sprites will always have over 3D, and the voice acting is superb. I found myself watching the first episode and before I knew it I was all the way up to the tenth!  Each one runs at about five to four and a half minutes long, which is a terribly difficult thing to do considering the time it takes to sync each frame to the voice, a swell as the reactions. One thing I found annoying at first was the constant OBJECTIONS! and HOLD IT! however, as the series moved along they became streamlined into the videos and you, for some odd reason, feel the need to shout one of these phrases upon someone asking you a question. I can't help but think of a situation, there you are with some random people you meet and you get into a heated debate about violent video games, and, seemingly out of no where you jump up, slam both hands on the table and shout "OBJECTION!"
What would be even more funny would be the occasional "Overruled!" But it is not my place to make suggestiong, I am here merely to review. What makes this particular machinima great is it's delivery system, that is to say, it doesn't have one. They seem to go by the saying "If you have a bad gun, keep shooting and eventually you'll hit something" which works... a little too well, you get so wrapped up in the jokes you miss some, but, this isn't a bad thing per say, in fact, it adds so replay value that is quite uncommon in comedy machinima. A funny thing is how well these random jokes fit together, they range from a harmless "I'm better than you because XYZ" where XYZ is the reason (because we all know that's harmless *cough*penis joke*cough*) to a full blown pedophile conversation and a discussion as to whether or not it is okay to put your finger in a little boy's bu- I mean anus and "twist it a little" regardless if it is a puppet, oh, did I mention that the guy actually touches himself with the doll? Oh yeah, they went there. When I was in elementary school we had what was called "D.E.A.R" Drop Everything And Read, well I institute "S.F.A.W" (pronounced suh-faw) Stop Fapping And Watch. Any objections?

23.10.10

The Beat Never Stops...

what are you high?! I don't have that kind of money!
A decent shot but so much more could have been done.
Hmm.... Where do I begin? Anarchist86ed's Fallout 3- Rebirth Cleons story is, to be honest, not exactly the hottest thing out in the machinima world as of yet, there are many flaws that need to be addresses, but before we get into that I would like to be fair as say that, yes, he did have a very limited amount of animations to work with and, yes, Fallout 3 isn't know for it's amazing scenery however, all that aside, it still manages to keep your attention up until the very end (assuming you are a plot driven type of person). Mind you I'm not an eye candy kind of guy (however it does help) but left's face it, there is so much that could be done to make this look better, the colors are all bland, the camera angles are like a washing machine (repeating) and the feeling in the voices sounds like a script. I do give the guy props for playing all the roles himself, however, if such a bold thing it to be undertaken, one much be sure they are up to the task of making it seem as if there are multipul live people having an actual conversation. It can't be stressed enough that the visuals are what ultimately brings this Machinima down to a mediocre rating. The story hints at a conspiracy that, allegedly, resulted in three dog's death, and this, ladies and gentlemen, is the driving point of the entire show. No how many times the knowledge that this is a story based machinima instead of a hardcore action machinima cones into my mind the fact that this is such raw footage astonishes me. I find it had to believe any editing what so ever was done here, yes, yes, yes Fallout fan boys I know that it's supposed to have a dark and dingy appearance however this is not the game once it has become machinima it must live up to standards that movies must like up to,
Dinky, dinky, and visually unappealing.
give or take a few select things. It is inexcusable that a game that is meant to have a "used" appearance take a step into the machinima industry and hope it's "natural" beauty will allow it to float right through. Look at Halo machinima for christ's sake, it has some of the best visuals in it's one respective generations however, for directors to even maintain that look while making a machinima there has to be some sort of enhanced appearance to make it stand out of an over crowded room.

With that said you're probably wondering, "is it worth watching though?" And I must say, if you are not a big fan of fallout or plot driven movies your time is best spent else where, however if that is your forté then you would probably want to watch this, while it only has one episode as of now, it has a lot of room to grow and I feel it could, if managed correctly, become a breakthrough in this genre of machinima.

YOU'RE FIX, CAPS EDITION

"ALRIGHT, DO IT RIGHT NOW, I WANT TO SEE YOU GET ONE OF THOSE AMAZING KNIFE KILLS"

I WILL START OFF BY SAYING THAT TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY THUS ALL CAPS, NOW, TO THE FUN PART, GREATEST KNIFE KILL THAT DIDN'T KILL WAS, I THOUGHT, A RUN OF THE MILL GLITCH MOCK UP OF MODERN WARFARE 2, AND I WAS RIGHT... UP UNTIL THE ACTUAL KNIFE WAS THROWN. THE ACTUAL KNIFE WAS THROWN OVER THE HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MAP, KIND OF MIND BLOWING IN MY OPINION, IT'S UP FOR DEBATE WHETHER OR NOT THE KNIFE THROWN WAS THE SAME ONE THAT MADE IT OVER THE HOUSE, BUT ONE THING IS CERTAIN, FROM HERE ON IN THIS MACHINIMA IS THE CURE FOR ALL SADNESS, ANGER, WHATEVER-YA-WANNA-CALL-IT DISEASE, YOU NAME IT. I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD IT WAS HARD FOR ME TO MAINTAIN MY HEARING TO CONTINUE TO LISTEN TO THE MOVIE. THE FACT THAT THE KNIFE HITS THE GUY AND
HE IS LEFT SCREAMING IN AGONY FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG AS WELL AS A SPECIAL SHOT AT AN ANNOYING ACTION TAKEN BY SOME TO GET A CERTAIN PRO PERK THIS IS DEFIANTLY A MACHINIMA WORTH WATCHING. IT'S ALSO WORTH A NOTE THAT AFTER THE KNIFE IS THROWN YOU HEAR A RANT ABOUT HOW THE KNIFE IS A ONE HIT KILL, AND HOW IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. BUT TRULY, I HAVE TO SAY, ONE OF THE FUNNIEST COMMENTS HAPPENS WHEN ONE GUY ASKS "SO WHAT DO WE DO?" I'M NOT GOING TO RUIN IT FOR YOU GUYS BUT JUST KNOW, IT WOULD BE THE LAST THING YOU WOULD EXPECT TO HERE IN THIS SITUATION. MY ONE AND ONLY COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR MACHINIMA IS THAT IT TOOK TOO LONG TO GET INTO THE FUNNY JOKES, SOME OBVIOUS ATTEMPTS WERE MADE THAT WERE A BIT TOO OBVIOUS AND NOT WELL DELIVERED (OBVIOUS TROLL IS OBVIOUS). YET, DESPITE THIS, IF YOU ARE IN THE NEED FOR A QUICK LAUGH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.

21.10.10

A new calling....

When I was young I used to think war would be the ultimate rush, going into battle killing bad guys and all that shit. Turns out that war is not that much fun after all. It's terrible, I don't care about ideals anymore, or victory, I'm tired Mary, I just want it all to stop. The death, misery.... I just want peace.
What is it that people yearn for the most? Money? Sex? To be famous? This is the question I was left pondering after watching Exitium's Vae Victis, it is a machinima made using the models, sounds, and maps of a game called Half Life. Truth be told, I wasn't too fond of Half Life
machinima* until watching this five part series. Truth be told, if this were
to be strung together it could very well pass off as a trailer for a Half Life Sequel, it has everything one could want in an Acton movie, Drama, suspense, an underdog fighting a losing battle, the characters are ones that you get to know throughout and grow attached to, So much so that you even feel a sense of sadness when one is lost. The saying goes, A picture's worth a thousand words, if that is that is the case there are not enough pictures in the world to describe how amazingly detailed the story is in Vae Victis. From the effects to the breath taking sound track this is one of the best machinima I have seen, taking advantage of programs that allow you to view character animations, models, and maps from this game has, beyond a doubt, given Exitium a leg up above the rest. I often find it breathtaking the type of beauty that can be born from, as parent's say, "Violent video games". It makes you wonder, do games that tell you not to kill better than games that's main objective is to kill? Sure games of the prior have a god message however games of the latter genre tend to have more of a positive message to it. Taking Vae Victis into account, most "violent video games" have you fighting for a reason, not just "go kill this guy, for the lulz" no, it's not like that, you often have to fight for peace, or to protect something or someone. Here you have humans fighting against the Civil Protection and the Xen* all just so they can live in peace. Now I don't want to post any spoilers here so I will finish by saying if you want to see machinima making at it's best, see Vae Victis.

Do you get tired of women playing "Miss Innocent"? It irritates me to NO avail that women get pissed off at men that "hit on them" at a venue or something as if he had "some friggin' nerve.....and the truth of the matter is...it's just that she wasn't attracted to him. Some of these women try to besmirch this man's name among other people saying "That's the guy who hit on me", here is how the situation goes, a guy is looking at your friend and this goes on for about five minutes (looking away and then back at her) untill he finally gets the guts to "go for the kill":

"Are you single?"

"Yeah"

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No"

"Seeing anyone at all?"

"No"

Granted most conversations aren't as straight forward as this one it's just an example, now then, at this point there always seem to be some sort of vibe that just causes the guy to lock up and just walk away. From here, I get to the heart of the problem, after the guy walks away  you look at you're friend and ask why was she in "standoff" mode it goes as follows:

"Well, he hit on me?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Well....um...*single girl gets flustered*...he hit on me! It was creepy!"

"Ohhhhh...okay.. Fair enough </sarcasm>"

Why can't just say what the real answer is, "I wasn't attracted to him." Go figure right? But why can't women just say THAT instead of calling the guy creepy?I asked my sister this question and this is what she gave me:

Girls going around declaring that a guy hit on them are just looking for attention.

"Look at me! Some guy actually found me attractive and approached me! Look at me!"

It has more to do with that then the guy himself. She declares he's creepy so she might have an excuse to declare it without coming off as a total attention whore.
While I may not agree with that statement I do have to say that I would rather her just say, "A guy flirted with me," etc, etc, and be flattered about it,and leave it at that than actually defame the guys character....why defame his character? How does that help anyone? With that said, if she defames that guy's character, and goes around to our circle of friends doing the same thing, "spreading the word" about the guy's "creepiness" is that fair?Mind you I know (oh how I know) that some guys give off this intense aura of exulting creepiness but does that beget rudeness?

But getting to a more serious matter women seem to be able to point the finger at any man and blame them for attacking them and we all take their word for it. I read on the web about a case I have been following for a couple of years. A doctor is on trial in Melbourne for raping a woman. Both of them were drunk, he says the woman didn't say no, she says she was somehow unable to say no:

A BENDIGO doctor accused of raping a woman seven times in one night conceded to police that she was “out of it’’ at the time but believed he did nothing wrong, a jury has heard.

Arvind Sharma, 37, is accused of molesting the woman in late 2006 after a night of drinking and nightclubbing.

He is standing trial in the Victorian County Court in Melbourne on seven counts of rape and three of indecent assault.

Sharma and the woman were known to each other, and before the night of the alleged incidents had consensual sex up to four times, the trial has previously heard.

In his 2006 record of interview, played to the jury yesterday, Sharma told detectives Danny McQuinn and John Dalton that he was shocked at the woman’s allegations and did not realise she had left his house until after police arrived and arrested him.

He said the victim was “out of it’’, but not “comatose’’.

“She was out of it. She wasn’t passed out, but she was out of it,’’ Sharma said. ‘‘She was drunk and I was drunk.’’

Asked if the woman was consenting, Sharma replied: “By saying that, she didn’t say no. We were kissing, cuddling... in a drunk sort of way, so there was no ‘no way’ or anything like that.’’

The seven rape charges Sharma faces include three of digital rape, two of digital anal rape and one of anal rape.
So basically, what we have here is two drunk people having a fondle. She doesn't object to sex, so he goes ahead with it. It does seem that he was more aware than she was, although that is only because the article gives more of his side of the story than hers. I'd like to hear why she 'couldn't' object to sex. That would be interesting to hear.I can't work out what this guy is being accused of. He had sex with a woman who didn't object. She says she couldn't say no - how was he meant to read her mind? Couldn't any woman have sex with a man and then claim rape and argue she couldn't say no? However through all of this I have to say that I am not a feminist nor an I against them I stand in the middle, meaning I see that both male and females have pros and cons, however, it seems that one pro of being a female is a wee bit more damaging than anything a male could do.

Somthing smells....beefy....

So as everyone knows Halloween is coming up, needless to say this is probably the only day people can get away with dressing as if they intend to beg on the corner for food and money under the ruse that they are mentally unstable. OR maybe they just want to wear silly (and sometimes sexy) clothing that allows them to portray their favorite character (or roleplay prebedroom style) without people being suspicious. What ever the case may be, I feel it is my duty to join in on these games, for "shits and laughs" as they say.

Two boxes and two empty dogfood bags
Honestly, I feel nothing beats the feeling of wearing your own costume, however, since I have no urge to actually go and buy one I decided to make my own DIY style from random house hold objects, to the right is what I have and, let me tell you, it made me giggle like a school girl when I first thought it up.
I don't think I need to explain how many looks and questions I will get while wearing this, I feel it speaks for it's self, but, I took the liberty to make a small image to show how it should look. Below is a rough guesstamation as to how it should come out, the actual results may vary

I must be a real man....
